As the curtains fall on 2025 and 2026 is ushered in today, we are at the point of retrospection of the past year and anticipation of what to expect in the brand-new year. As a Club, 2025 has gone with its challenges and no doubt some achievements were made while the year lasted.

Let us take a moment and look back on all the warm memories, feel proud of our achievements and take a lesson from our mistakes. This is the time to rediscover the strength and courage that lie within us and continue to move forward with new vigor and commitment in fulfilling our obligations to the Club using our time, resources and talent.

"Kopo bu ego, afu bu ego – openpe ewetaho onwea" — Let us always make effort to assist Members in distress whenever such calls are made. Let us shun the attitude of comparison because all hands are not equal — "ka aka ha ogoli ka oji-atukwasi dia".

Some of our Members and parents passed-on during the year and befitting burial ceremonies were performed according to the dictates of our guiding rules. I pray Almighty God to receive the souls of the departed in His Bosom and let perpetual light shine upon them, Amen.

The issue of recruitment of new Members was given top priority during the year. Branches operate at the grassroot level and gave utmost importance to this quest and reasonable progress has been recorded. The idea behind this effort is to avoid extinction of the Club due to inevitable aging and retirement of Members added to growing number of Members attaining veteran status. First sons of our departed Members were encouraged to avail themselves of automatic membership of the Club as enshrined in our constitution. A good number of this category of membership has been recorded — over 40 percent.
